It wasen't really the internal parts of engine, but they got a little cheaper on the interior of the Z(take the rear carpet, and floor mats for example). Another thing Nissan did to 93+ Zs, was that they no longer painted the valve covers(90-92 had painted black covers) Late 94+ Zs no longer had painted balance tubes and fuel rails(same goes for the fuel dampener, and regulator). Steering wheel is no longer leather wrapped, front bumper is painted only 1 color instead of 2 colors, and a bunch of other little things.
