saying how much better their Contour or Suburban or Probe is SO much better than my Z becuase they never have to do anything but put gas and oil in them. Whatever, they just do not understand the difference btwn a high-performance(OK, sorta, it's an NA :P) Japanese sportscar and the run-of-the-mill domestic beater-car crap. They say crap like "didn't you just get tires last year, mine last for 80K, your tires must be crap" Yeah, OK dumbass, I wonder whose tire has more grip and can stop faster, turn quicker n an emergency? Or, "why did you bother putting an exhaust on your car when the original one was not rusted out?" Or, "My car doesn't need new springs and shocks, upper control arms, a clutch every 60K miles or less(38K if you are me :P), etc, etc, etc" OK, OK, so the Z is NOT cheap to maintain, but we all now and accept this as a matter of course for having a gorgeous, high-performance going on 10 year old car. I am willing to to pay the upkeep to have a car that is rewarding to drive, a joy to look at, and still looks great 10 years after it's introduction. I guess the problem is that we are all "car guys" and they are all just 9-5 working stiffs with a bitching wife and 4 kids at home. There is not one person I work with that sees a car as anything more than "transportation". To them it is an appliance just like a refrigerator or a toaster. They have no love for their ride, don't care about parking close to the door at the grocery store and getting door dings and shopping cart hits to their "apliance". It's just hard to relate to people who *really* think that their 4-door plain-jane Contour is a better vehicle than a 300ZX. I guess it has something to do with them all being middle-aged engineers and being ultra-conservative. Sorry, just had to vent as I get crap every day from all sides from these guys. Mike
