Message i have a serious question so please don't tell me to sell the NA and get a turbo. this is NOT about that...

a friend of mine has a 98 maxima and wants to turbocharge his car. many people on the maxima.org forum seems to be running a single turbo setup with stock internals, ecu, and without lowering the compression on their VQ30 engine. many state that they are running 9-12psi boost safely for over a year now. they even have dyno pics to prove it. if this is being done safely with the maximas, why is it not possible to just bolt on a turbo for the NA? aren't the NA Z's VG30DE engine very similar in construction and compression to that of the 4th generation maximas?

my other question: what is reason the z, rx7, 3000gt, and supras came with twin turbo's rather than a single turbo setup? is it just a lag issue, or are there any inherent benefits of a twin turbo setup?

thanks in advance.
