| so without getting into the painful details, the front of my car slid sideways and hit a curb dead on, bending the passenger side suspension table and shearing a nice chunk of the stock wheel I had back then. According to the alignment/collision guy I saw, the usual sequence of crumpling happens like this when the wheel meets the sidewalk: 1) Wheel gets scuffed or bent 2) Suspension table twists(part #54500 below) 3) Outer Tie rod may take a beating 4) Tension rod and its bracket may bend 5) In more severe cases, the cross member goes to hell (54401) In my case, I upgraded the wheels and replaced the suspension table and tie rod. Now the wheel's in perfect alignment, except that it sits less than 1" further back. Handling is still almost perfect, this is barely noticeable. I've been told by a pro that I need to replace the tension rod and the bracket (54480) since they also bent when the curb came at me from nowhere! =) Any of you ever had instances where you saw that bracket bend or is this a first? Where's a good place to get that bracket and a new tension rod (or set of two rods) for the best price?
Thanks for your help George
