:The process involves *altering* the fuel combustion process by adding H2 and O2 to the mix. :The process is *not* simple recombination of H2 and O2 in the absense of anything else. :If there were no gasoline, Marshall would be correct; however, this system is more complex than that. I fully understand what you are saying. But my point is that as soon as you electrolyze one molecule of water, your power loss has begun. I understand that this is supposed to "support" the combustion process in some way. But even if it does support combustion, the overall process of electrolysis will always take a little more power than it gives. You can try to re-arrange the processes which take place, but in the end you'll always end up with a slight deficit.
