My dad baught himself a big block 67 corvette stingray years ago fully customized. It had fender flares, tunnel tubes, craigers, Chromed everything in the engine. But he put it all back to stock, factory restoral and now it is worth many many times what he paid. I do agree though It is and should be more about the fun then the money. But isn't it great to have both? While my father was growing up, He fixed up/restored each of his cars while owning them, making a profit on all of them, He enjoyed them while he had them, but each car he had enought profit to get something nicer. I will agree some cars can be money pits, but if chosen carefully it is possible to get back more then you put in.
