Message But you CAN tell if you have a boost/vac leak if you are looking at the vac gauge. You should have 18-22 hg/cm^2 (or whatever the units are) of vac at idle. If it is less than that, you know you have a boost/vac leak.

I knew exactly what I was typing, looks like you need to learn what you are talking about. The gauge reads vacuum and boost from the same place. So a vac leak = a boost leak.

Sure there are exceptions and I did not say it was the ONLY way to tell if you have a leak, but it can be very useful.
