| Everyone is getting all excited about these new tuning products that will be available but no one has been talking about what it takes to make the product work. Just like the whole N/A with turbos and supercharger deal all the N/A's got all excited *until* the full details of what it takes and how much it costs came out. Same thing here. People are acting like they are going to be able to plug in a Zemulator, Apex Power Programmer, Link, etc... and it will make an extra 60 Rwhp over what the tried and true JWT ECU will do. That is not the case!! First people have to realize that you have to have a very good idea of what all the perameters are much less what they do to the car when changed. How many people here know what the K valve is and what it changes, what the Injector Latency is and what it changes, what the Total Theoretical Pulsewidth Minimum is and what it changes, etc... They are not going to be able to just go in a push a button and make 60 RWHP. It will take someone who is very familiar with tuning. Then you have the tuning aspect. These tools will not work unless tuned on a dyno with a wide band O2 sensor and someone who knows how to tune and what to change to make the power. So that invloves a lot of expense in dyno time and paying someone to tune it who knows what they are doing. Is Ash going to fly all over the US to tune the Zemualtor?? Is Greg Dupree going to fly all over to tune the Apex Power FC??? I don't think so. Hell there are people who are running around today with a basic AFC that I gaurantee are set to 0 and have been installed for over 3 months. Same thing with coilover setups....Like Nixit said before....they are cool and all but he has seen several people even at autocross and road courses that don't touch them and probably haven't since they were installed. So people are not going to be *tuning* their cars on a daily basis. :-) Just a daily dose of reality.
