Message	Sways are for transitions. In tight left-right-left turns you want to be flinging as little weight around as possible to maintain stable cornering. Once the car is settled in turn the springs are more important. So, I'd say they are a MUST for auto-x, etc at least. In high speed tracks with smooth turns maybe not so much (damping and springs are important here).
