"But recently after it hit safety boost I shut the car off and turned it back on and it woudl be fine again." That's what it is supposed to do, if it senses detonation. It puts you into safety boost, then once you shut the car off, it resets itself. Then, the cycle starts over again. Check basic safety boost issues: plugs, fuel filter, temp sensor, etc. Could be bad gas, could be the warmer weather. Check the FAQ.
