It bothers me that a stuck throttle can lead to a serious accident. Most people don't realize that you shouldn't tap the pedal to free a stuck pedal because it might stick at a higher setting. What a surprise that would be. Ironically that is exactly what most of us would do. Odds are good that it will never happen to you. But what if it did? It bothers me to hear you say (like many others) that "I've driven my car for about seven or eight years with them removed, in all sorts of weather, etc" Inference being that because it has never happened, therefore it will never happen. It probably won't. Odds are in your favor. But what if it did. It bothers me to hear people say that "icing can never affect me because I never drive in temperatures below freezing". They need to know that this is not a valid argument. My purpose here was to correct some mistaken notions and present some interesting facts for people to consider. It's an intrigueing phenomena that I believe deserves the attention and consideration.
