Message Snow packs down, sand parts. Sand tires are wide and have paddles. The object is stay on top of the sand. Snow tires are narrow and have aggresive tread patterns to cut through the snow to get to the pavement. The object is to get to the road for traction.

Let's review:

Sand = stay on top.

Snow = cut trough to the road.

you TX guys just have no idea :)
