Message a sensitive subject.. Of all the performance upgrades, the 'ol NA->TT conversion has got to take the cake for generating the most "assholish" of responses. However, I recall taking tons of flak for my PCV reroute idea (which didn't work, but I have another idea up my sleeve that will), my big brake fab took a good on a solid cathodic charge, my woodgrain interior takes beatings from time to time and even the Zemulator, after I have pretty much shown how effective it is, continues to take beatings. Most of these kinds of statements seem to come from the same group of people. They firmly believe that they are God biggest gift to the Z32 community and they like to believe they are the wolves of the den. If any sheep stand up to nibble on other grasses, they are quickly tackled down, feasted upon and left to rot amongst the herd. Then the eager vultures swoop down after the dust has settled to finish off the remains.

I think it has a lot to do with the idea of one making their own chioces about what they want to do. The masses would prefer everyone to conform to one set of ideals so they dont feel left out or 'one-upped' by someone else. They gain their status by simply belittling others who are less informed or those who have exotic ideas. They pass off their snide remarks by saying things like "we get this question all the time" or "it will never work" and then promptly tell you to use search.

This is not always the case though. There are some guys here with genuine talent and education (<- and I believe the educated people here have more input than criticism to offer) and they will pose questions and comments important to the topic at hand. The 'wolves' (or jackals if you will) sometimes blanket what they really mean but you can tell where they are coming from.

The thing I found recently that works wonders is simply to make a very short and simple response to these kinds of posts rather than try and argue them. "Ok." or "Sounds good" or "Yup" all work very well. It concisely means that you read it and you dont agree, but that you also wont waste your time answering their excuse for a constructive and beneficial post. It keeps the traffic down and doesn't give them anything else to say...
