Message From the honing of the cylinders, the right amount of ruffness left on the cylinder walls, the line honing, the decking, the gap of the rings, the balancing of the crank, the tolerance of the bearing and pistons, there isn't one thing that is not critical. Unless you know all about this, you have to trust in the shop you choose. The easy part is choosing what components you are going to use. That's really a no brainier if you go with quality parts. Where people get into trouble is going with the lowest price when it comes to choosing a shop. I have seen it countless of times where someone, to "save" a few hundred dollars goes with shop X instead of shop Y. I learned this a long time ago from my father. He would always go the cheap route with things and it always bit him in the ass in the end. But he never learned and kept making the same mistake over and over again, going the cheap route. I personally know of several examples where people got quotes from SGP, decided they were to much, and a few months later tow there car in regretting they didn't bring it there in the first place. Experience is what you want to look for. Don't waste $1000.00 later to save a few hundred now. Go to a good shop, not a cheap one.
