Message Overall I'm very satisfied.

Just a quick recap.... we show up, strap the car on the dyno and the owner Harry gets in and starts going through the gears. I completely forget to set the boost controller ahead of time, so it just produced what I had in there last. Turned out to be peak 17.7 but it probably maintained 15-16 at the higher rpms.

Then Greg takes a quick look at the air/fuel ratio (which is disgustingly rich up top), sets a few points within about 2 minutes and we make another run. It's almost dead on perfect air/fuel ratio now (around 11.8:1). That, with increased boost, we made about 20 more hp and 20ish ftlbs torque (don't have that dyno sheet).

Then he fine tunes it a little, and turns the boost to hit peak 19-20, and I make another 8 or so hp and torque. Greg gets a sparkle in his eye and asks me "so you wanna mess with the timing now to make more power?!".... and I of course said yes. The car went in at 16.5 degrees timing, but we didn't have a timing light so we just guestimated it and cranked it a little. Made about 10 more hp and torque beyond that. Then it was so close to the magic numbers that we had to crank the timing a little more........ but the intercoolers were sizzlingly hot (and the plenum too), and we didn't have long to let it cool. We ended up letting it sit about 10 minutes to cool and did the final run.

Here's the first and last runs: (i'll be posting large and small versions just in case the large ones get blocked)

Here is the same thing but with a MPH x-axis:

Here's 16 degrees timing vs 25 degrees (HAHA yes 25... we checked it when we got to the shop.... made lots of power and didn't ping, so what the hell!)

On the street, we checked it and it runs just a hair leaner which should be making more power than what the dyno shows. Plus, with back-to-back runs with hardly any time to cool, I'm sure the car can break the 400 barrier pretty easy if I went in with the engine cold. I'm not, however, making excuses because all I was expecting today was 350-370 hp and 400-420 torque.

BTW, this was all done on 87 pump gas.

JUST KIDDING! 101 unleaded.

Just wanted to show what stock turbo cars were capable of if anyone is interested. With some mods still left to do, I should be able to produce another 10-20 whp I'm guessing if I went to split-downpipes, x-pipe in the exhaust, intercoolers and a CF driveshaft. Rob at RPS guarantees I'll see 30 more whp on the dyno with his aluminum flywheel.... I have my doubts.

Mods are in the profile. Basically a stock turbo car with stage 5-6 upgrades, and 46k miles on the motor.

Here's the album in case none of the pictures show up. My stuff is at the end of the album:

Dynos

I also have some video which I haven't had a chance to look at yet, however I don't have any place to upload it to. If someone wants to let me borrow some server space, I can show video (car sounds cool in a garage).

Sorry for the long post.

Also, thanks again to Greg at Specialty-Z for his genius touch! He truly is a master.... to get a shitty air/fuel ratio nearly perfect within 1-2 minutes is awesome.
