dont fall for that high ball low ball game that dealers play Everything changes once you take out you check book, sign over a depo and negotiate "sitting down"Negotiating while standing up is just a yank of your chain I know because im in the automotive retail business (indirect auto lending) Any saleman "must" goe thru a sales manager for any price fluctations from MSRP and especially "trade-in" When your ready to do the deal...the used car manager will inspect your car, call a couple of wholesalers (because the GM dealer "may" not keep the car on a domestic lot and because they dont sell used imports, they probably dont even know what your car is worth) If they are gonna put a number on your car..believe me..its gonna be black book wholesale. And if they give you "trade in value" a retail price on the bill of sale...ill bet you wont get a single penny discount on the new camero. And if they show you a "big" discount on the camero.."beware"!!!! the new camero is probably over-inflated! NO DEALER is gonna give you RETAIL for your trade and sell their car at WHOLESALE! : run. You will never get an offer like that again. Take the $18K and get a 92TT for around $12 and spend $6K on a full body kit and paint and go stage 5.
