to do with brake caliper force, right? The psitons push on the pad, you cannot see the pistons, but I assure you that they are bigger. Pad size does not either, pad size affects pad life, and a bigger pad is better in that regard (it also helps to distribute the heat over a larger area of the rotor). If you have questions brake tech related please ask. But please do not criticize something that you do not know about.
