The traffic in Beijing was 10x worse than any city I've ever been in in the US. I live in Atlanta (home of six lanes of bumper to bumper traffic every day) and I've been to SF (where I got stuck in a traffic jam getting onto the Bay bridge at 10pm) and Beijing was much worse. It's even weirder cause there's a million people on bikes (the pedal kind) everywhere as well. Then there was our trip to Chen village in rural China outside Beijing. There were no lanes on the roads. People just pretty much drove whereever. It's somewhat disconcerting to see cars coming straight at you. Amazingly, I didn't see any accidents. I've never been to Mexico city, though, which I can envision being just as bad or worse. David
