save your money up and pay attention to the release dates of new equipment. A lot of times you can get what is left of last years models for great prices. Last year I picked up a pair of Alpine Type R 12's for $200, they usually sell for $200+ a piece. I got my Kicker amps really cheap, ZR240 for $50 and ZR120 for $25. If you don't settle for the first thing you see and show some patience you can find some really good deals that will not make you poor. If you can hold off until April, there is usually a Kicker Sale here. I live 3 miles from Stillwater Designs and they sell their overstock equipment to the locals. I could probably pick some stuff up for you if you are interested.
