The best way to go is not INHERENTLY defined by the most expensive parts, although many parts are expensive. There are plenty of things out there for our cars that fit a tight budget. Are you gonna buy a JWT ECU JUST because its $350 more than the Zemulator?? Are you gonna buy a JWT cam jsut because they are more expensive than some Stillen brand?Maybe the $1000 exhausts and $3000 BB turbos and the 8 kagillion-hyper-gazillion dollar brake upgrade kits are the best things on the market...But theres lots of things out there that arent expensive. Underdrive pulleys, flywheels, a good clutch, intake, port work, blah blah ad infinitum. Yes we have a car that is expensive, and costs a lot to maintain and upgrade. That doesnt mean that there are NO great bang-for-your-buck performance upgrades... In fact thats the thing I love so much about being able to upgrade my car. I can do it different from everyone else, and right now I can buy all the little things. Later on when after I graduate College, I can throw on the big power upgrades, and all the little supporting mods are done. Its not about spending alot of money to "do it right the first time". Its about being a self-conscious, aware, and cost-efficient consumer. Later Josh :dude, you will learn that going the cheap way is definetely not the best way with our Zs. I am an 18 year old student whos money situation is greatly limited and my budget for modding doesn't exist. I would adivse you, and the best thing to do, is to save up your money and buy some Greg Dupree downpipes, which are clearly the best hands down (search up on em').
