Message You can setup the ECU for any kind of specific operation, or you can set it up for generalized use. That's just up to the tuner. From any given day to the next your car will make differing amounts of power. This is because as pressure changes, or temperature changes, there is differing air per volume entering the engine. What you are missing is that the ECU sees these small differences and the maps are designed to allow configuration to handle this variability. You dont have to load a different program each time the weather changes - the program maps are three dimensional, the system uses MAS (which accounts for density and temperature changes) so the ECU has the inherent ability to make these changes by its architecture. I think what's confusing you is that you are modeling it in only 2 dimensions like an AFC. An AFC suffers from what you are describing - the ECU doesn't.

In my warranty information section of the Zemulator, it is specifically stated that this device allows for manipulation of map parameters. What you choose to do with those parameters is up to you. The device has no additional functions other than that stated ability. It is designed to allow the tuner to make the engine produce as little power as possible, as much power as possible, any variation between those two points and it also serves as an engine destroyer. If you blow your engine to little pieces all over the dyno shop floor, the Zemulator didn't do anything wrong, that actually is a documented feature of the device to be able to do that. It lets the tuner do what he wishes.

What I'm getting at there is if you want to set it up for drag racing, street racing, roadcourse racing, autobahn running, or to just blow the engine to pieces, whatever, you can set it up specifically for that. I think you are missing the point that you can make it as specific or as general as you want. That's up to you what you want to do with it. But having the ability to set it up specifically is something that hasn't really been easily or economically attainable before and its amazingly simple to tune with this thing.
