condiserable room in the high octane maps. However, if it does start detonating because it is in these adverse conditions, the low octane maps will be able to handle it safely. In addition, for those long 5th gear pulls I have added in 10% more fuel to the mix to keep the EGT's down.
The JWT programs have the low octane maps, high octane maps, and the 5th gear maps ALL set to the same exact parameters. This eliminates the ability of the ECU to handle these other situations effectively. It is not a complete tune when you do it this way.
My EGT's on those pulls was very low - about 770C.
