Message How is the 60 foot on that setup?

:Sorry for the late post guys...but I was crashed out in BFE on Saturday night and Sunday was, of course, the Superbowl. Anyway, this was my first time taking my TT to the 1/4 mile strip and it turned out to be quite a good day as I managed a 12.6 @ 110mph with a so-so 60' time. When we got there it was semi-crowded and insanely windy. We were looking at 30-35mph gusts throughout most of the day and they weren't in a helpful direction...but that didn't stop anyone.
:Sorry for the huge pics...I'm doing this at work and can't resize :)

:Here we are in the pits. Seb, WXY, degredated and I all made passes. Mike (La Canada), KILLR300ZX and DPHOUSE all graced us with their presence and helped out a ton as pit crew :) While Seb had to settle for mid-12s because of a temporary clutch that wouldn't hold (the carbon-carbon wasn't in), both Mikey (WXY) and Ryan (degredated) kicked some ass. WXY was able to easily backup his 119mph stock turbo runs with another 117 and a 118.85mph. Amazing! Degredated simply wanted into the 12s (just like me) and after a long-fought battle with low 13s, he jumped head first into a mid-12 (I don't know exactly what time). I've dragged off and on for a while...but this was all new to me today. I had good drag tires, a fast car (for once) and strange weather conditions to take into account. In fact, I completely forgot that I needed a helmet since the NA was never destined to run a 13.99 or better. Thankfully Mike (La Canada) let me borrow his. After about an hour of prep we set out to run. My setup for the day:
:1990 Twin Turbo
:K&N Intake
:B&B Exhaust
:JWT Chip
:Dupree Split Flange DPs
:Dupree Test Pipes
:Dupree X-pipe
:Timing at 16 degrees
:Boost at ~17.5psi (1.2bar...flashed to 1.3 for a split second on a few runs but didn't hold)
:100 Octane Fuel
:Temp: 76-84 degrees
:At first I thought this automatic launching thing was going to be cake. On the street I have it down, but with traction it's a whole different story. I built boost but didn't let it build long enough and bogged hard to a 13.2 with a 2.3 60'. I spent the next two runs trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Finally I got fed up and Mike took me to an empty parking lot area and we tried it a few times. I just wasn't waiting long enough to build and was launching at 0.2 bar as opposed to 0.4-0.5. The very next run out I hit 0.4 at the line and let it go. BAM...finally! While my 60' was still only a 2.0, I managed a 12.6 (all I wanted was a 12 let alone a deep one). Seeing as I haven't tuned it yet, have a bad fan clutch robbing me of a few ponies and am still learning to launch, I'm VERY pleased with this! If I can get it tuned, run 19psi solidly and knock out a 1.8 or even a 1.7 60' time I should be hovering around a LOW 12 (if not a high 11 with some serious luck and perfect conditions). Of course, it's all speculation until I DO it :)
:Low Run of the Day - I'll scan when I get home.
:R/T - 1.90 (hey, I was focusing on launching, not winning!)
:60' - 2.08
:330 - 5.42
:1/8 - 8.22
:MPH - 87.53
:1000 - 10.65
:1/4 - 12.6
:MPH - 110.3

:The only Supra we saw out there. Cool guy from what we saw...was running low 13s working out issues.
:
:Attempting a burnout in the box. I sufficiently got them warm enough most of the time but I ended up sideways on 4 of the 5...sheesh =)
:
:These bad boys helped propel Ryan (degredated) into the 12s (on load from Mike).
:
:Here's a clean pic of Seb staging up. Looking good with my old wheels and the new paint/JSpec front
:
:And there you have it. I'm looking forward to getting my issues worked out and heading down there again. It's a GREAT track overall (nice people, the timers work right, not too crowded) and I'll be back. Great seeing everyone!
