Message	This will ruin shift knob, but do the job. Cut the leather/rubber off the bottom half of the knob w/ a knife. Grab the shifter shaft which is now exposed where the bottom part of the shift knob used to be with vice grips. Get another vice grips on the shift knob (or a good pair of pliers should do it). Hold the shifter shaft still and twist off what's left of the knob.
