interface into the device and manipulate it. I get into the hardware level of the system and put my own devices in there. Now I have heard that OBD2 allows permanent modifications, but I have also heard there is a deal of encryption (if you will) on that data stream to do that sort of thing. Going into the hardware and changing it defeats this entire system, but still allows for diagnostics through the OBD2 port. I'm just going to a deeper level in the hardware.
