A stockish TT on the right pads (track ones, don't use your street ones there) and good racing brake fluid like motul 600 or the ATE wont fade much, even in 25ish minute sessions. Most of those that are responding to you are talking about their experiences with metal master pads, which imho, are the lowest of all hi performance pads. I for one would not ever try them with my own money for the front brakes of my car. I may put them in the rear since they are better than stock and could be useful in doing some brake biasing. I suggest, since you know how to drive, and drive well, get some good pads for your front for the track day. They will hold up very well if you get all the air out. Try the hawk blues, or the ferodos you speak of (I've been wanting to try a set, I can't remember which the 2500 or the 3500??). If I had the money which I don't, I'd try the Pagid RS14, but thats another story. If you use any double duty pad, they just don't hold up, and give you the experiences the others are communicating to you. Simply, buy another set for the track on this car, the stock pads dont hold up like other cars might. You will be fine, no matter how hard you beat your brakes, as long as you do a thorough racer's bleed which I'm sure you will (remember to do abs, I suggest to do it first, then the calipers, and before doing each caliper, use a rubber mallet to dislodge any air bubbles on the inside edges, but I'm sure you already know this). The brake ducts are a nice thing to do, you may have nil brake fade with them. Just route them to the backside of your stock rotor (cut out the heat shield) use some 2.5-3" racers brake tubing in a way that it wont interfere with turning and you will run very cool. As for your cooling issues, don't sweat it this time if you dont want to. I've run my former stockish TT very hard at Laguna, T-hill and B-willow before and had no issues, I found that just as long as you have reasonably fresh brew in there and add some of that waterwetter if you dont use that good neo stuff you wont have the issues. If you are getting the koyo anyway, thats better, but either you wont have the cooling issues as long as your car is up to spec, even on a hot day. When you upgrade other stuff, then the koyo becomes a necessity. Where are you driving at?
Cheers, Salah
