I have 18x8 up front, 18x9 rear, no problems with fitment. Make sure you buy rims from someone familiar with the Z so they give you proper offset. IMHO, you'll need drop springs with big wheels or the fender gap will be huge, like a 4x4. I have 1.5" drop - see my sig for pic of that drop over 18s.
