cars present: many 300ZX NAs & TTs 350Zs 280ZX (260Z?) 240Zs Miatas S2000s WRXs Impreza Wagon Sentra GTI Viper GTS and RT10 M3s, all vintages MX6 Protege 5 & MP3 928 944 911s, all models Supra RX7s, FDs & TurboII Eclipse GSX Celica, new & old Mustang If I left any off, sorry. What a day. What a blast. What a rush. Great dinner the night before at a BBQ place, Shorty kept us well fed. Not sure how many drivers/cars, but the place was packed. The instructors were great, all patient, talented individuals. I had a different one each session (5), and with each instructor using a different teaching style kept the day fun. Car hit 43,000 miles during the 2 "slow see the track" laps, and by the end of my runs, had 43,118 on the clock. 118 miles, no stop signs, no cross streets, no speed bumps, no head on traffic, 3 lanes wide, 120 mph, no flashing red lights. I drove in the "never been to the track" group A. They only allowed passing on 2 straights, and I got passed, but I did some passing. As the day went on, I did more passing, and was carrying WAY more speed than the first few laps. A group B driver (more track experience than A) in a lightly modded WRX ran with me in the last run, and it was very humbling to pull over, and let him pass. I would HIGHLY recommend a class like this, and any event the track guys from Club Z ([ www.clubz.org ]) Lee, Dan & Bill put together. cars stolen from hotel parking lot: 1
