Usually you cannot go to traffic school for speeding more than 25 over. However, the judge can, at his discretion, let you take the class to dismiss the ticket. Another recourse (which may not be available in your state - but it is in Texas) is deferred adjudication. This means that you plead no contest and go on probation for 90 days (differs between cities) and you will still have to pay a fine. If you get another moving violation w/i 90 days - both tickets automatically go on your record. Never just pay the fine outright - that's the dumbest thing anyone can do. Go to court if the previous options didn't work. Worst case: they find you guilty and you are exactly where you wree paying the fine outright. Who knows - maybe the cop won't show. Also, since he claimed it was a plane that go you - the burden of proof is on them. I'm assuming they have to have pictures of the car and all sorts of calibration data for the plane. This is called discovery and you are entitled to have actual copies of ALL of this info BEFORE trial. In your case it cannot be the cops word against yours since he did NOT physically clock you. Good luck
