| i appreciate the insight bro - honestly - i know you've done more to your z than 99% of the ttnet population and can certainly relate to almost any experience. Remember, i went by the time frame i was quoted - which was 3-4 weeks and since that turned into 4 months that is why i was pissed about the time frame. You tell me 4 months and i'll plan on 4 months, you tell me 4 weeks then when it becomes 4 months your damn right i'll be pissed. Yes we did more than we normally planned on but the only part (yes the only part) he had to wait on were the cams and he ended up getting those from a local supplier - so it wasnt an issue of parts being delayed for months - everything he needed i either gave him, he had on hand, or he was able to get quickly. The $8200 - again - same as above - he quoted me a price months prior to starting, thats the price he worked off of. My original estimate was roughly $4k for rebuilt engine, labor, and instal of turbos, clutch, and engine. Once we got my car there we talked about doing more and hense the price eventually duobled. Again i havent bitched about the price i was charged - i bitched because that was the pricing structure he offered but regardless of that its what i was charged and what i paid. So when you spend whatever amount of money (in my opinion 8200 is a fair chunck of change) and have issues you would like them resolved or the work backed up. My failure to have this work backed up or offered solution to my issues did not happen till i recieved the above email today from russell. I dont care who you are or what you spend, if you are not happy with the work and you have reason not to be, you'll be a disatisfied customer. Keep in mind too - i did not start this thread - as a matter of fact the thread ruzzell is refering to did get 600 or so viewings - but look at my post and show me where i stated his name/his shops name in that original post - then go find where i did finally explain what was up after other members mentioned his shop name and see how few veiwings it had. I guess its how i look at things - i felt that my weekly posts of ruzzell provided pics and descriptions were very helpful for ruz's business while my Z was there, i felt i was also a pretty good customer to spend that much money w/ him/his shop, i felt i put a large amount of trust in him since i wouldnt be able to check up on my Z till it was done, and all in all it was a handful of "little things" that i tried addressing w/ him MONTHS ago that went unresolved that ended up being the main reason that i feel dissatisfied. Doesnt matter who you are or what you spend - you feel like someone doesnt back up their work then they dont deserve "kuddos" and when they deny responsibility for the questionable work done then they deserve to be held accountable for that. Thats my take on it.
