| The assure, safety and to allow everyone a great amount of track time, the number of cars is limited. This applies to the auto-x as well. We want to insure that everyone gets an adaquet number of runs. NHIS is a very technical track and very hard. The car show is outside and we can hold a lot of cars. BUT in the event of rain beyond a drizzle, the show has indoor provisions. Space is limited to 120. Since this is the only time Gold Medallion/Gold Cups are awarded, it is critical that all cars be judged in the same light. We have the attendance data from the last convention(s) 2000/2001 and 2002. The last two conventions did exceed all predictions. You also have to plan banquets. The grand ballroom has a capacity. The key here is that for those traveling, we want to insure they can participate in the events they choose. People who wait to the last minute may not be able to get into certain events.
