Message Are you meaning that someone can be "right" because they think they are? Philosophy is both subjective as well as concrete - it depends on which context you speak of it in so I am confused when you say "your attitude towards this...". I'm not sure what the 'this' you speak of is. But I do agree with your statement that not everybody will agree with my philosophy or ideas. The thing is though, there's no dispute that there comes satisfaction when you hand someone their ass and even moreso when they drives a car that consists of the typical shop-hopping ricerboy bolt-on upgrades. There's no *maybe* about that feeling. One may not subscribe to the same philosophy on fab whoring stuff though - to them it may be just as satisfying to spend all that money and go out and woop up on someone who builds all their own stuff. LOL However, all of this is a pissing contest really, and we are mostly competing with ourselves. But the fact remains that racing is a test. Its a test of your machine and your skill. I'll throw a bit more of my own philosophy in and say that if racing is a test of skill and ability, then the more skill and ability involved makes the stakes higher. So, he who wins AND has more involvement in the ability of the machine to perform will have greater satisfaction than someone who wins in a car with bolt-ons because the challenge to build your own AND build it better requires much more skill than just spending cash. It becomes a reassurance to the individual that they are indeed, the shit - and that is the satisfaction I speak of.

Perhaps that's what you meant when you said that the attitude is what makes you right, but I would have to say that it would be better worded as:

...attitude towards this is what satisfies you.

Its not a right or wrong sort of thing, I think. ;-)
