You can adjust backrest position independent of the seat cushion of course, but you don't have to sit straight up and down either. For my money, adjustables. They still hold you snugly in place, and to me at least are more comfortable. For inexpensive options, check out the new 3A seat (if you can find it on the web) - good looking, and only $200 each including sliders.
