Message ...on an unknown. You never know what the hell he's gonna do, and given your time at the track, 11s may be in reach, but you may very well not get them anyway. Consider the surface - are you racing on the street? If so, your launch surface is surely gonna be worse than the launch pad at the strip. Also, road conditions usually are worse than track conditions, so that can cost you too. And if there's some wetness on the road, your MTs can lose grip, costing you speed/time at the best and traction/control at the worst.

On top of that, he's in a far lighter car with a motor that's purpose-built for this kind of running. You're in a 300ZX, much heavier, with a motor that's still largely street-oriented. That's some serious handicaps.

Not trying to shit in your oatmeal, but if I was in your situation, I'd definitely want to know more about the opponent. If you decide to run him anyway, make sure you clearly define every parameter of the race too, so there are no gray areas to argue afterward. Get a third party not partial to either of you to act as judge in the event of a "photo finish" to decide the winner and to hold the money as well. If you run him, good luck to you - in any race, it's as much driver as car, so hopefully you'll be on your A game and he won't:)
