stroke (very similar). Combustion chamber and intake/exhaust ports look amazingly similar. A lot of the "all-motor" 12 second civics using these engines have put cams in them, but a lot of portwork has been done as well. Granted, the butt-dynoesque claims dont really fly, but things were not the same when I put my engine back together after the blown ring land fiasco. I had ported the intake and exhaust significantly, cleaned up all the sharp edges it the combustion chamber and pistons and the car is markedly faster than it was before. Granted on an NA engine the benefits of doing this will only be about half as noticeable, but then again, we are talking about an NA which the gains are expensive and meager to start with. Every little bit helps and I dont think it would hurt if he at least spent some time matching the valve seats to the ports, port matching everything, knifeedging the intake spline, etc.. Just the usual mods, nothing way exotic. I guess I got carried away with the description of what to do, ;-) But I agree with you, it wont make huge neck snapping differences, but every little bit does matter when you get down to this level with it.
