Message The CAS has a slit for every degree of rotation. At 7200 RPM, you have 120 revs/sec. 120revs/sec is 43200 degrees per second. You need at least double the sampling rate to monitor a signal, so effectively, you need at least a sampling rate of 86,400 samples per second. Typically a 100KS/s timer/counter circuit is employed for this sensor. So, the sales person you spoke with actually has no real idea of what it is they are selling. They are just tossing out numbers and words that sound good. Else, I question your knowledge on the subject (Actually I already do given that you have overlooked this fact I mentioned above). Does this mean their product is trash? Certainly not and that's not what I am insinuating. What I am getting at is if they are going to say you NEED a faster processor and then make an incorrect statement like they did on the sampling rate, AND the fact that the Z32 ECU does its job very nicely with room to spare, why should we believe them when they say that a faster ECU is better? I'm all ears on this subject....
