| Ok, my car is pretty much usless in first second and the bottom of 3rd gear. At first it was cool to be able to roast the tires at a 30mph roll, but now its just downright dangerous. I need the absolute best dry traction tire i can get. Regular street tires just dont have a sticky enough compound to get traction. So ive been looking at drag radials and Autocrossing tires. Ive narrowed it down to the Nitto 555r drag radials and the Kumho Victor Racer V700 autocross/roadrace tires. The widest i can get the 555r's in, is a 245 50 16 for @ $138 and the Victor Racers come in a 265 45 16 are also priced at $138 I like the fact that the Victor Racers will still give me great cornering because of their stiff sidewall design, but i think as far as straight line acceleration goes the 555r's will be gripper, however i can get the Victor Racers in a 265 instead of a 245, so maybe the extra contat patch will make up for it. Also both tires have a tread depth of about 6/32ths and im wondering which would last longer on the street. I know ill be lucky to get 8k out of them but i only bring the Z out on nice days and i really need traction, plus both tires are cheap so i can replace them when they wear down. ----Please, please, please! ONLY reply if you have had direct experience with one or both of these tires and can contribute some real insight.
