| I can only agree with you 100%. 99% wont do. It'd be cheating my fans. in my planned motor build, i will be ceramic coating everything. even plastic parts. I think ceramic coating is going to be the carbon fiber of the new millenium. Ceramic coating will reduce underhood temps dramatically, protect vital engine parts (turbos/electric harnesses/vacuum lines/rubber bits/everything) from excessive heat. however, i cannot justify the cost difference between ceramic coating the exhaust/turbo housings/intake pipes/etc...versus a $200 hood + $300 in paint. anyway, my car will benefit by still looking completely stock ( a big bonus ) my car will benefit by having lower underhood temps. my engine will benefit by having more usable/safe performance and power (exhaust scavanging = more power/quicker spool). my engine will benefit by not getting rained on (when it's raining). my wallet will benefit by not loosing resale value (too much, all that motor stuff will effect value). (( and not that i'd ever sell my Z32 model 300zx tt )). anyway, things to ponder i guess. i was gonna stay out of this thread, but 'yall' in kentucky are perty smart, feller.
:That's the ultimate in heat disipation! Oh, it's not a practical application for a car only driven on the street you say? You can obviously make a case for this hood and all the CF pieces you want, but what it comes down to is that 99.99% of the people buy it for asthetics and asthetics alone. Hence the Honda references. I hardly think you can make a "bandwagon" case here. Did you ever stop to think that the reason most on this board shun this type of mod is because they understand the difference between looking bling and showing some restraint when it comes to relevtively minor gains on street cars? Sometimes the justification of this junk gets old.
