Message	The pole penetrated pretty far into the front of the car, so more of the car took the impact and the distance it took to come to a stop is longer. It doesn't seem like much, but if it takes you 24 inches to stop, the impact is only half as intense as if it took 12 inches. Take 6 inches from that and it's 4x as bad. 3 inches and it's 8x as bad.
