the reason most auto engineers put the oil cooler in front is because #1 better positioning, #2 is it doesn't abstruct too much flow to radiator but if you put oil cooler behind the radiator, the radiator is too large and oil cooler won't be effective enough or at all. It's a give and take...sacrifice a little cooling to the radiator or sacrifice a whole lot of cooling to the oil cooler. I think it would be better just to sacrifice a little cooling to the radiator and atleast get optimal cooling for the oil cooler, so atleast one thing comes out positive.
