....get an auto tranny adapted to the Z if you *really* want to drag race alot and be fast. If you buy the Skyline you'll just end up busting trannies in that too. If you adapt an auto tranny to the Z and are careful with converter selection, the car will launch well and will not break parts. BTW, good luck with the Powerglide - which is a two-speed, not three-speed - because the starter is on the block on Chevys. There may be a way to do it, I just haven't seen it as yet - I'm sure there's a way. You might look at a Ford C-4, because those have the starter mounted on the bellhousing. Those are three-speeds and will handle mucho power. I believe there's some low-hanging fruit waiting for someone in adapting an real race auto to the Z. People may say that it's not as fun, but then again, they haven't experienced a good, straight, hard launch either, without tearing something up!
