We run the Portland raceway track a lot with our Z club ( I post pic's here all the time ). Never once has anyone broke there Z at the 1/4 tracks, neither at the autocross. But one thing you do see. The autocross kills all four of there tires, brakes are so hot some blister and crack, yes even Brembo. The run's are for 20min full blown out racing, which is all spectrums of the RPM scale. It's hella harder on the full suspension system of the car. Which I would think is much harder on the car that's not built for this kinda racing, yet can do it. All those TT's are running those same blocks that where poorly designed with bad cooling passage ways for cylinders 5 and 6, all have stock oil coolers as far as I know, few have spun out on the curves and into the grave which can't be good for the car. Better than the walls at other points of the track, but again. Only the fools who drag race there cars with stock components such as clutches and things of that nature deserve to have there car's fail. You can't tell all kids that just got there cars how to drive. But some really know the cars and knows it's limit or weakest point. If it breaks after than either Autocross or 1/4, that's pay if you play and that could happen to anyone just driving the car harder than intended for.
STAGE V++++ Going to XIII and beyond :) |
