The only reason you hear bad stories about JDM engines is because the people who get bad ones dont pay attention to where they are coming from and who they buy it from, etc... My JDM was compression tested, and has absolutely no problems, with great compression. If everyoen buys the way I did, then youd see virtually NO bad stories...The other great reason for byuying JDM is that you have to jack with anything...Its all there, ready to drop in. When you build a motor, you have to swap parts, worry about mismatches, redo timing, blah blah ad infinitum...And unless you have the time to do things immaculately perfectly, which most of us dont have, then rebuilding is a really bad idea unless you pay soemone else to do the labor, which skyrockets the already inflated price of parts and labor... Go JDM...Just do it right! =) Later Josh : These are the only two options I'd consider. For every decent story you hear about JDM motors, you hear one bad one...too much risk. For a little bit more money, you can have a new factory shortblock.
