Message	In a dog engagement tranny, there are no synchros to synchronise the gears being mated. Instead, each gear is grabbed by toothed dog rings. The two biggest advantages dog engagement are the power is directly transferred (noting is wasted on the synchros) and because there's no synchro, the gears are wider => stronger. ICQ # 14337317
