A Supra owner can ask as much as he wants for his car, and he'll likely get it. Why? Because there aren't that many out there (sports car market was already drying up by the time the Supra came out). I don't think reliability or upgradeability has much to do with it, since the Z is perfectly fine in that regard for most people, even bone stock. But look at the typical crowd that hangs out in this and other forums: mostly 20-30 year olds who love to make their cars go faster and look better. Movies like "Fast and Furious," and mags like "Turbo" have made it pretty clear that the top dogs in that respect are the Supra and Skyline, so guess what the "gotta have the fastest" crowd wants? (Skyline not really an option though...$$$$) I'm glad I'm out of that mindset. It's the reason I traded my fast but tampon-looking, cracked leather, fading paint, clunky transmission 94 TT Supra for my TT Z back in 96. 'Cause here's wisdom, ladies and gents: you can sink all the money in the world into your ride and think it's the fastest, but there will always be somebody out there to hand you your ass (yes, even if you're in a Supra :) ) I think it's funny that somebody paid almost $100 grand for the F&F Supra. When it's all said and done, he's got...a souped-up Toyota. Buy the car you love (which of course should be a Z), mod it so it makes YOU happy, and enjoy the ride! Peace!
