Message Quiet, decent grip in the dry, secure feeling in the wet, nice and quiet.

I'd say their best characteristic is their very progressive break-away. By this I mean you can tell when you start to loose traction when pushing it to the limit. The tires are very forgiving in the way they approach loosing traction and give lots of feedback. Also, when you have exceeded the traction limits and start to slide, traction comes back smoothly and steadily, not all at once which unselltes the car.

My Kumho 712's which I had before were the polar opposite of the above mentioned breakaway characteristics. They squeelws like stuck pigs from a moderate speed and would loos traction all at once and you were SOL. Then, after you scrubbed off enough speed the car would snap back in an instant as the tires got traction again. Terrifying driving to say the least. NOT fun, and a good way to wreck your car when driving hard.

I have also had Yokohama A-520's and they griped better in the dry than either the 730's or 712's, but were much noisier and sucked badly in the rain.

Of the three I'd choose the RE-730's if I had to buy one of them again.

Next set of tires I get I may pony up a bit more cash for some better tires like some AVS Sports or SO-3's or something....

Mike
