Mike,

Greg designed the new tubular manifolds with most of the quirks worked out, that exist in greddy manifolds. They are stronger and will not crack as easily as Greddy. You should have a talk with him. I have no doubt that you will gain considerable amount of power/torque just by switching the manifolds. I can't imagine the spoolup characterstics once you go tubular :-).

I switched to 18Gs, we'll know the truth about them soon. I know that they have done 650rwhp on Yacoub's car at 24psi boost. I've been running it with race gas(untuned) at about 24psi but you are right about the seat of the pants feeling, its hard for me to tell a difference yet. Although Greg thought the car was way too fast for the street now, kind of accelerates like a bike without breaking loose.

:I would really like a tubular header and external wastegates but I dread having to deal with leaking and cracking.

: I wonder about the 550+ hp @ 17 lbs though, according to my compressor and turbine maps for that turbo, it should not be posible, the compressor does not flow enough at that pressure ratio, at least with any reasonably expected BSFC and VE. The math does not come close to working out.

: Also there is no way that the stock clutch can come close to containing that amount of power on the dyno. I smoked a few on the dyno that are way more clutch than stock until I found a combination that would hold.

: Finaly if you look up the dyno chart comparo form a few months ago, which compared, my car with sport 650's, bernies car with GT2530's and Zoe's car with the Greddy setup you will find that my turbos had the least amount of lag, best low end torque, greatest amount of torque by far and the greatest area under the power curve of any of these set ups even though Zoe had the best peak power. With this bit of retuning, my power peak is real close to Zoe's now with an even broader powerband and lots of torque.

: This goes to show that Sport 650's are not laggy!

: Mike
