They put out more actual power based on their specs than most other amps. Because Alpine rates their amps at 12 volts rather than 14.4 (which is close to the actual output of your batt/alt. not counting voltage loss due to resistance of the power cables, etc.), the Wattage output of the amp is actually more along the lines of what they say in the specs and in most cases, more than what they say in the specs, which means that you don't have to overdrive the amp to get the same volume level... a nice bonus :-) I am planning on using the V12 407 for my whole system... 120Wx2 + 320Wx1 ...
