Message But like 2-turbo was saying and little things not listed in your post was what kinda of performance are we talking about here. Stock rims hold great value when it comes to racing. Yet bigger rims are better on autocross, cornering and handling. So is it a straight line or road course? Light weight is key in both still to offer less resistance in Torque output from the rear differential.

Not to school you in what you might already know and what you don't. Smaller size rims offer faster turning radius and allow a much higher side wall tire, hopefully a drag radial or drag slick. More side wall at a lower tire pressure, allows the side walls to wrinkle during your initial take off. Like you will see on dragsters and funny car racing.

Now auto cross is that exact opposite. Where a 18" rim is ideal for our cars with less side wall to allow the tire to be pushed to extreme cornering and handling without buckling or breaking the beed on the rim. Makes sense I'm sure. But your ride will be a tad stiffer or bumpier do to less flex from your suspension. Running a tire and rim of this size on a 1/4 mile track with cause much tire spin off the line and surly affect your ending time. Get with Luke here on the forum on more detailed information on this subject. He can cover tires and all with you.... :)

Going to XIII and beyond :)
