Message	Picks up radar easily a mile or more away. Picks up routine false alarms, like construction signs, but has a radar counter to let you know how many sources there are. So if there is a harmful radar using a false alarm as a cover, you will pick it up. The only time it won't help you, and no radar detector can, is with lazer. Instant on radar you can read from cars infront of you, but it can be as bad as lazer sometimes. I mounted mine right below my rear view mirror, plenty of room to see behind me.
